ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT:

  • Human-Elephant-Conflict Mitigation and Elephant Conservation: One of SNEHA’s primary focus falls on mitigating Human-Elephant-Conflicts in Kodagu in Karnataka and in Odisha focusing on ‘Save People and Save Elephants.’
  • Research: Studying elephant behaviour and crop depredation.
  • Awareness Campaigns: Raising awareness on sustainable living and environmental protection.
  • Community-Based Soil and Water Conservation: Empowering rural communities to lead natural resource restoration through Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) based planning, ensuring that soil and water conservation efforts are tailored to local needs and wisdom.
  • Capacity Building: Conducting training for different stakeholders.
  • Nature and Wildlife Conservation: SNEHA NGO is a leader in integrating technology with community-led conservation. Through its 'Save People, Save Elephants' initiative, SNEHA balances the urgent needs of rural safety with the long-term goal of wildlife preservation. By deploying early warning systems and sustainable waste management solutions, the organization ensures that both humans and nature can thrive in a shared landscape.

LIVELIHOOD IMPROVEMENT:

  • Mentoring and Capacity Building for SHG's and CBO's: Forming and fostering Community based Organisations including Self help groups, Users Groups, Watershed Associations, Joint Libel Groups, Child Cabinets, Youth Groups and Federations and assisting them with credit linkages through nationalised banks.
  • Skill Development: Development training for adolescents and SHG members.
  • Water for livelihood improvement through Agriculture: Leveraging integrated water management as a catalyst for climate-resilient farming and economic growth.Empowering smallholder farmers by securing reliable water access for year-round agricultural production.
  • Support for farmers training and Agriculture extension services: Scaling agronomic excellence through targeted training and field-based knowledge transfer.

WATER, HYGIENE, SANITATION - WASH

  • Awareness Programmes: Spreading awareness about Behaviour Change Communication strategies, demonstrations for school children and conducting workshops to encourage sustainable Solid and Liquid Waste Management (SLWM) in rural and urban areas.
  • Infrastructure and Development: Construction of wash infrastructure including compound walls, classrooms, toilets, drinking water facilities and handwashing facilities.
  • Capacity Building: Training for school and Anganwadi teachers, Anganwadi helpers, on hygiene practices and CBOs using Community led Total Sanitation (CLT) approach.

EDUCATION

  • Preschool Education: Capacity building for Anganwadi teachers on teaching-learning methods to improve preschool education, and hygiene promotion for Anganwadi helpers to improve preschool education.
